An ecological approach for the future
Nelissen works with a 100% natural product: Löss.
This is a nice, first step in the right direction. This clay is mined in our own quarry and then transported to the factory halls via conveyor belts. There, a process starts that pays maximum attention to sustainable production.
The process is almost like a recycling process. Nothing is lost. The same goes for the life cycle of a facing brick. Clay is processed into facing bricks. These bricks are used in homes that will stand for at least 100 years. Moreover, the bricks are recycled after demolition. At this point, they will serve as foundation material.
We're building a new way of building with 100% green energy
By constantly improving our activities and processes, we minimise the environmental impact of our production process. Minimal nuisance due to noise and dust in the environment, optimal waste management, efficient use of energy, raw materials and water, those are our main strengths.
Starting 2021, Nelissen will be working exclusively with green electricity.
This will save us no less than 4560 tonnes of CO2 per year.
That can be compared with 3300 flights from Brussels to Dubai, or the annual emission of 1357 cars.
On top of that, Luminus is planting 100 trees because we choose this sustainable form of energy. As a result, we save an additional 2200kg of CO2.
This project fits perfectly with our story of innovation, co-creation and sustainability.
We are making a maximum contribution to the environment.
