Arte

Because your façade deserves to be a piece of art

The (non-perforated) facing brick is sanded on five sides. The surface may be given a frog (a slanted oblong groove) on its bed. The structure looks rugged with fine and irregular grooves in the sandy surface. The firing process takes place in a gas-heated tunnel kiln. One in four bricks is made with a sand layer that is mixed with coal. This results in bricks with coal on the surface. The baking process pulverises the coal, which creates holes that vary in size. Sometimes these holes remain filled with pulverised coal, but it is also possible that the coal drops out of the holes. These holes are inherent in the product. If a customer finds that the holes in some bricks are too large or off-putting, they may choose to have the visible side reworked so it is more aesthetic. The presence of coal holes is purely aesthetic and does not detract from the quality of the brick.

The different types of sand provide colours that vary from white to grey, alternated with light grey and dark shades, in which the white deposits are clearly present. The different structures are the result of sawdust on the one hand and white, fine-grained sand on the other. The colours shown are a near reflection of reality.
