Old-Gothic Baekel
Give your house the authentic beauty of the ancient cross bond
The (non-perforated) facing brick is sanded on five sides. The surface may be given a frog (a slanted oblong groove) on its bed. The firing process takes place in a gas-heated tunnel kiln. The bricks have a rough structure, irregular shape, and a strong resemblance to recovered bricks.
The brick has a red base. The typical old aspect is the result of the wet and unbaked bricks’ treatment with various admixtures. The types of sand used are responsible for a rather dark red palette with white and black sediments against a red shaded base. The different structures are the result of sawdust on the one hand and white, fine-grained sand on the other. The colours shown are a near reflection of reality.
