Old-Haspengouw

A hand moulded facing brick with a classic look and feel

The (non-perforated) facing brick is sanded on five sides. The surface may be given a frog (a slanted oblong groove) on its bed. The firing process takes place in a gas-heated tunnel kiln. The bricks have a rough structure, irregular shape, and a strong resemblance to recovered bricks.

The brick has a reddish base. The typical old aspect is the result of the wet and unbaked bricks’ treatment with various admixtures. In addition, the various types of sand are responsible for calcareous sediments slightly diminishing the red colour. The hues range from soft red to dark red with beige, white and grey shadings. The colours shown are a near reflection of reality.

I would like to see some references of this brick, in my area.
